The Concrete Filled Swimming Pool
Why fill in a swimming pool with concrete?
This is my next door neighbors house. They are married, grown kid. Why they would do this is beyond me, they just lost a lot of money on the value of their house. I really don't care, I'm moving in a month. It is filled with dirt, with the concrete being at least a foot thick.
Oh yea, when my neighbor bought his house across the street, that pool was filled in also, but he dug it out. And it was just dirt.
From what I understand, they did not want a house with a pool. Maybe I'm stupid, but why buy a house with a pool then? Maybe it is for the better. They never took care of it, and it was green a lot. At least for the summer, the new owners of this house will not have to deal with mosquitos.
But still, why not drain it and just have a company fix a thick sheet of Plexiglass over it? Drain it and cover with anything, don't fill the damn pool in though.

Played A Game Of Wiffle Ball
Yesterday, my future wife, my brother, 3 dogs and I went to the ballfield, where we pretty much grew up, playing baseball and football. We went to play Wiffle Ball though. There is a small field field for like 8 year olds, and it was perfect for us. Now, the WB rules suggest 60 feet from home plate to the homerun marker. For us, it was about 100 feet to the fence. And the ball had to hit the outfield for a hit. We decided on 3 innings and the ground rules. Oh yea, I told my brother I was gonna hit 2 taters off of him. It was 0-0 through 3. I had a bunch of hits but couldn't get anything going. In the top of the 4th, I had bases loaded and 2 outs, and hit a single to drive one home. 2 pitches later, I launched one, on a fastball, over the left-center field fence for a 5-0 lead. Next pitch I really crushed another one, it landed a good 20 feet behind the fence. I had an easy inning pitching to complete the 6-0 shutout and bragging rights.
This was the first time my future Mrs. had swung a ball bat of any sort. I pitched to her and she got a few good hits. We had a lot of fun and the dogs really had a blast also, chasing a frisbee and various balls.

The end of tax season can't come fast enough
I can't wait until April 15th. I had a BRUTAL return yesterday. I spent 2 hours on it and I'm not even close to being done. I still have the state part to do. I'm in Florida, so I normally don't do state returns. I have today and Monday off, then it is straight through until the 16th, which happens to be my Dad's birthday. He passed in 1992. I do nothing all day that day, just answer the phone. And I'm that much closer to getting out of Florida.
It has been a crazy tax season this year. I had difficult returns very early in the season, and that has never happened to me before. And this stinks, so far I have made A LOT less money this year than last. I have only worked 20 hours a week since peak season ended. My bonus should be pretty good though.
At least I'm going to opening night at the Trop Tuesday, to welcome home the Rays after spanking the Yankees this past weekend. I won't have many chances to see them after mid-May, when I'm moving. We are going to tailgate first out there in the parking lot before the game.
Speaking of baseball, I have a baseball blog with links to updated headlines, updated daily. Tampa Bay Rays and Ohio State categories are there also.

Oh yea, Dale Jr. is going to get his first win of the season today. I expect him to dominate, provided is motor does not blow up or any of the other million things that can happen, including bad pit strategy at the end and bad pit stops.
Today is the day I always wear a Dale Earnhardt Sr. shirt. His birthday is April 29th.
And a shout out to Carmelita's on Park and 54th in St. Pete, the food last night was incredible!!
A few other of my blogs that are themed. All are updated with the top headlines of the day.

October 2000 AC/DC Audio
Hey all,
Go and pick up this great bootleg from AC/DC. From the SUL tour, Germany, Oct 12, 2000
http://www.acdc-bootlegs.com/
Sign up to get the bootleg.
Here is one of my favorite videos from the lads. Man, the start of an AC/DC concert is such a powerful experience. You have to have seen them live to understand what I'm talking about. The band has such a presence when they hit the stage, it is unreal.
Enjoy the video!!

Happy St. Pattys Day
Hey y'all, just want to say happy St Patricks Day, when everyone is Irish. This is the day when I wear my Tampa Bay Mutiny jersey I bought back in 1996. It is ugly, but cool at the same time. Green, 2 different blues, yellow. Last March, my future wife and I saw the US National team play at Ray Jay in Tampa. I wore that jersey and got a few compliments on it.
Anyway, here are a couple of videos. The first one is classic, Jim Breuer imitating Brian and Angus. Excellent!
The next one is Hells Bell, from, of course, AC/DC. This is Toronto Skydome, November 1990. I don't thionk I have seen this one before.
Enjoy the videos and everyone be safe. Tonight is rookie night. Christine and I are walking to a local bar for happy hour, have 2-3 pitchers, then walk back to my house. We went to a party Saturday night at Niagara Tap. The place was packed.
